Many people do not know that tap water and bottled water can be acidic in nature and can cause some health issues like acidity, etc. Some sources of tap water can contain minerals such as chlorine and fluoride which can also make the water acidic. But you can make your alkaline water at home.

A tap water typically has a neutral PH value of 7,  alkaline water has a PH value above 7. Usually between 7.5 and 9. Alkaline water has minerals that are more alkaline in nature and this is why it is good for your health.

To make a refreshing alkaline drink with cucumber and coriander,  you can start by washing and slicing half a cucumber into thin pieces. Then chop up a handful of fresh coriander and add to one liter of water along with cucumber slices.  Let it sit for a few hours to infuse the water with the flavors of the ingredients.

Cucumber is a natural diuretic and helps to flush toxins out of the body while also providing hydration. Coriander is rich in antioxidants and minerals like potassium,  calcium, and magnesium, which help to improve immune function and balance the PH level of our body. Watermelon and basil are delicious combinations that can create a very refreshing and alkaline drink.  To make this drink, you will need one liter of water and add two cups of cubed watermelon and a handful of freshly crushed basil leaves.  Watermelon has alkaline, minerals such as potassium, and magnesium.  It is also rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect against cellular damage and reduces inflammation in the body. 

Basil has a calming effect on the body, which reduces stress and promotes relaxation.

To make a pineapple and mint alkaline water,  start by slicing off a quarter of the pineapple and adding it to one liter of water. Then add a handful of crushed mint leaves and let the mixture steep for a few hours. The pineapple adds natural sweetness and the mint adds a refreshing flavor. This combination is not only hydrating but also helps to balance the body’s PH level and reduce inflammation. Pineapple is a source of bromelain, an enzyme that aids digestion, and reduces inflammation in the body. Mint is a natural diuretic that helps to flush out toxins and water retention in our bodies.
