Ironing is one of those things that for many people is a necessity but they don’t know how to do it properly. With these hacks, you will learn how to iron cloth without any problem.
One important aspect of this job is choosing the necessary equipment for professional ironing results. It will cost very little. I’m not here to break your bank!
In addition to great equipment, there are a few great products on the market that will help ironing easier and hopefully more enjoyable.
I certainly don’t mind ironing fabric. When I iron clothing, it makes me feel good to know that I am representing my family in the most polished way. When I iron fabric seams for a sewing project, it makes the fabric lay perfectly flat. So, whether you choose to iron a simple cloth napkin, a giant tablecloth, or a gathered skirt, each project will be pressed to perfection.
At first take 8.5 oz water in a container and add 8.5 oz alcohol in it. Then add one tablespoon of fabric softner in it. Mix it well. Then pour the mixture in a sprayer and spray it in your clothes while ironing.
The iron’s needs to be hot. You can also use foil paper in your iron table. Take the shiny side up and place it in the table. Use aluminium foil to better distribute the heat. Then put a iron table cover to conceal it and make it a lot easier.
Iron your clothes in one day. This way you will save energy. Start with the easier pieces. And increase the iron temperature. Gradually hang the clothes after wards .
For easy ironing of a shirt, start with the front. Protect the buttons with a tablespoon. Then do the coller and the back. Finish by ironing the sleeves and cuffs. Wait ten minutes before wearing it.
Before ironing pants spray some water. Put your pants in a plastic bag and let it sit twenty minutes. It’s easier to iron damp fabric. Secure the pants to the ironing board or table using clips. Damp dish cloth and put it over your pants and iron it.
While ironing jeans, iron one leg at a time. Fold it gently lengthwise and button it up.
It’s always a skill that can come in very handy if you are in a place where no one else can do it for you. In my opinion, the first and most important thing you need for ironing is a proper ironing board.
You should use distilled water while ironing. If you use regular tap water in your iron, you will get a mineral build – up. The mineral build – up inside your iron will not only shorten its lifespan, but more importantly, you will end up with whitish, grayish or briwnish minerals that come through the steam holes and stay in your shirt and may stain them.
With these little hacks you can iron your clothes more comfortably.
