One of the most popular plants in practically every plant lover’s home is the money plant, which is said to bring wealth and good fortune. These vibrant green, heart-shaped leaves may be grown indoors and will grow swiftly. But, most of the time, we purchase the plant and expect it to flourish with simply daily watering. Use these instructions to care for a Money Tree.
Light
Although it can tolerate less light, your money tree enjoys indirect bright light. Not enough light will result in yellowing leaves and slow growth but too much direct sunshine may scorch the leaves. Every month, turn your plant to maintain even growth. Try a grow light if you’re concerned your space isn’t getting enough light.
Temperature
This plant needs warm weather, at least fifty percent humidity and seventy degrees. It could be necessary to spray the container with water or set it on a tray of stones submerged in water to raise the humidity level in the house.
Water
Water your money tree between 50 and 75 percent dryness in the soil. Make sure the soil is moist before applying any water. Rinse the area well with water until you see water coming out of the drainage hole. Pour off any extra water into the saucer.
Soil
Well-drained soil is preferred by money plants. River sand mixed with regular potting soil works well for growing plants or you can use potting soil with a high pearlite concentration.
Fertilizers:
First off, if you take good care of the soil, water, and sunlight that the money plant receives, you won’t need any fertilizers. Fertilizer should be applied to the plant when it is being watered, once a month is sufficient. The money plant should not be fertilized in the winter. The most crucial thing to keep in mind is that fertilizer should only be applied in the evening.
Pot Sizes
The size of the pot primarily relies on the size of the plant you want to have in your home. A pot should be at least 8 inches in diameter, but if you plan to keep the plant permanently, it is best to choose a large one because small bowls or containers can limit the plant’s ability for growth. Use geo fabric grow bags for plant terrace gardening, they are stylish and environmentally friendly solutions.
Re-potting
You can repot your money plant in a bigger container if you see that it is outgrowing its current pot. Additionally, it will give your home extra greenery.
Cutting
The only thing that has to be pruned on the money tree plant is any sick or dead leaves. To maintain the appearance, the plant will need to be braided more often as it gets bigger.
Propagating
The money tree plant can be multiplied either by seed or by stem cuttings. To grow a mature houseplant from seed, it will take longer. You need at least three plants to have a braided plant.
You can make sure that your money plant stays healthy and keeps growing according to these instructions. Due to their low maintenance requirements and great yield, money plants are a great option for both novice and experienced gardeners.
