It’s the season of warm lights and soft textures, making it the perfect time for a Cozy Home Makeover. I recently found some fascinating objects at IKEA that revolve around this theme. One of my favorite purchases was a candle holder—I had small candles for ages but never had the chance to use them. The way the glass cylinder makes the candlelight look even cozier is just perfect.
Lamps have always been a weakness of mine. They are such charming objects, interacting with the ambiance just by switching them on and off at different times of the day. I couldn’t resist buying a new one—it’s my favorite item from this haul. As a child, I used to believe tiny creatures lived inside these lamps, making them even more magical.
Portable Lamps and Decorative Finds
Christmas season is the best time for fun and festive decor. Portable lamps are a great addition to any space—no cords, no hassle. They belong anywhere I want them to be. The lamp I got is quite heavy, which was unexpected, but it adds to its charm.
Another exciting find was my first flower-patterned decor. Most of IKEA’s floral designs aren’t my style, but this one immediately caught my eye.
For the colder months, I’ve been searching for the perfect winter slippers. Finally, I found a pair that looks adorable and, more importantly, feels incredibly comfortable.
Decor Archive Basket & Christmas Preparations
I keep a decor archive basket to store seasonal decorations and illustrations. I love changing my calendar illustration—not because of the date, but to match my current mood and the weather.
My artificial tree has been with me for over 15 years. Last year, I received some lovely presents, and soon, I’ll use them to decorate my Christmas tree. It always feels special to rediscover these decorations each year, like opening a treasure trove of memories.
One of my absolute favorites is a candle with the best scent I’ve ever had. I’ve also been working on a few mosaic vases lately, and they turned out perfect for holding candles and greenery.
A Refreshing Space Update
As part of my Cozy Home Makeover, I wanted to refresh my space with new textures and colors. Finding a book that matches the vibe of this project is always fun, and today’s choice doesn’t have many illustrations, so let’s head to the library.
Now, my living room is filled with new objects. Time to unbox everything and start the makeover project! One of the highlights is the twin-size Unikko duvet cover—the main character of this transformation.
Before setting everything up, I’m washing everything that will go on the bed. I also thrifted a beautiful table and bed frame from Facebook Marketplace. Since I no longer use my Muji bookshelf, I decided to move it to my bedroom, replacing another shelf.
There’s a corner in the basement that has always been empty—I had no idea what to do with it. But recently, I gave the basement living room a full makeover, and now it’s finally coming together.
A fresh, cozy space filled with warm lights, soft textures, and meaningful decorations makes all the difference during this season.
