The common kitchen equipment, known as the microwave oven, is used to cook a variety of foods as well as reheat previously cooked food. It is an electric oven that uses electromagnetic radiation with a microwave frequency range to heat and cook food. Raytheon created the “Radarange,” the first microwave oven to be marketed commercially, in 1947.
Convection microwaves, which have an extra heating element and fan to distribute heat throughout the cavity, are now available in addition to conventional microwaves that cook food using electromagnetic waves. We can bake, broil, or roast smaller amounts of our favorite meals at a time using a convection microwave because of its oven-like heating feature.
The kitchen’s busiest equipment, the microwave, shows how frequently drips and splatters of food happen, despite our finest attempts. Here are some ways to clean a microwave oven using natural ingredients.
Cleaning the interior:
- Put 1 cup of water and 1 cup of vinegar in a bowl that is usable in the microwave. Slice either one large lemon or two little lemons. Put lemon slices in the water and vinegar solution. After that, keep it for 5–6 minutes on high in the microwave. Use a moist cloth or sponge to clean the microwave’s interior, and that’s it.
- In a glass (Pyrex) cup or bowl that will fit in the microwave, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of vinegar. Then keep it for 5 minutes on high in the microwave. Take the cup or bowl out of the microwave. After cleaning the interior of the microwave with a sponge or damp cloth, it’s done.
- 2 cups of water and 1 cup of baking soda should be added to a bowl. Mix thoroughly, then put in the microwave. After that let it be for 6 minutes on high in the microwave. Clean the microwave’s interior using a moist cloth.
- In a bowl, mix 1 cup of water, 1 cup vinegar, and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Set the bowl in the middle of the microwave. For two minutes, place the microwave on the high stage. After the microwave has steamed up, clean the interior with a moist cloth.
- 2 Tbsp of water should be placed in a small microwave-safe plate or dish. Lemon Essential Oil in an amount of 2 drops, is added. Then, let it be for one minute on high in the microwave. A sponge should be opened and placed on a plate to absorb any remaining water, and then it can be used to clean the microwave’s interior.
Cleaning the exterior:
- To clean the microwave’s exterior, wipe off the front door with a sponge that has been soaked with water and sprinkled with baking soda. To rinse, wipe with a wet sponge or cloth.
- Smudges on the exterior of a stainless-steel microwave can be eliminated with a paper towel and a bit of coconut spray. Use vinegar and water in a 50/50 ratio to clean greasy windows. Rinse, then pat dry.
Best microwave oven:
The Toshiba EM131A5C is usually the most economical microwave with a unique feature that enables you to covertly reheat midnight bites without waking up the rest of the home, so that’s our recommendation for the finest microwave oven. Toshiba ML2-EM25PAE is another. The majority of its features are similar to those of the EM131A5C, however, it is slightly smaller and lacks a sensor for auto-heating modes. Additionally, the midsize Panasonic NN-SN67HS, which is heated quicker and more uniformly, can also be preferred. The current prices on Amazon for the aforementioned models are $136, $119, and $165 respectively.
