Being invited to someone’s home is always an honor. The guest is highly respected. It’s  there safe heaven or it’s  where they have their most personal or sweet memories and  they have invited you.  That is such an honor. Arriving on time  or a little early is perfect.  Being late can disrupt your host’s plan  for the evening. So you just make sure you arrive on time and it just shows respect. Here some tips how to be a good house guest.

We hear so many times people complaining about their weekend guest or people they have had over during the summer time whose kids were into the refrigerator or eat everything  or who loaned out on the couch the entire weekend or who never picked up after themselves or never contributed financially by means of bringing something. It’s really important when you bring things for your host.

It’s always nice to bring a small gift whether it’s a small vase of flowers or a box of chocolates,  make sure you don’t come empty handed. Not everyone is in a great financial situation but there are things which are inexpensive but really thoughtful and show you have gone an extra mile to be helpful and to be participating in the work that requires to maintain a household and to have people over.

So if you are staying over night or for a weekend, make sure you bring either food  or make sure you bring something you prepared. You can bring anything. You just don’t want to show up empty handed.

Again, it’s not about the money, it’s about the thought behind bringing things that are going to be helpful for the weekend and for the time you are there.

It’s always nice to offer a lending hand. It’s  about being helpful to the host  and to help out for the work the weekend is going to intel.

Once you arrive at the house, you wanna make sure you keep everything you bring very neat. So keep things in your suitcase or keep things in store. You don’t wanna keep things all over the room.

Once you get up from sleeping,  be sure you make your bed, keep things very neat, make sure that tiding up after yourself.

Respect other’s space

Remember, you are in someone’s home. So respect there space. Always respect people’s privacy.

Keep the bathroom clean and tidy. You should always ask where to park your vehicles. And be grateful for the food.

Share schedule with your host and don’t bring a pet unless you have permission because  they may not love pet as you love them.

Always offer your host to dinner. Because they may not love to cook that day. They may love the idea of taking food outside. It will be a little refreshment too.

During the weekend make sure you participate. Be sure you participate  in food preparation,  in cooking,  there are different ways you can participate.  It means you really respect your host. You really respect that they have invited you to there home.

At the end of your staying strip down your bedding,  pile up all your towels and offer to wash them up, offer to  fold it for your host.

When you leave, make sure you send your host a thank you note or thank you e- mail.

Open your home to other people. It’s a really kind gesture.
